Robin Amora is an artist/figurative sculptor currently living in the outskirts of Austin, Texas. Using paper as her primary sculpting medium, she continues to build on what has become a fascinating and truly unique body of work. With an outside-the-box upbringing, no formal art training and a hard-wired addiction to creative expression, she has developed her own methods through years of non-stop, obsessive experimentation.
One very strong influence in Amora's work came through caring for her dying mother, who had undergone brain surgery and suffered a severe stroke. Drawn from this, and other life experiences, Amora's work deals with subjects involving mental health, our existence and mortality and the continual thread that trails its way through the spaces in between.
